Provincial Assessment Week at MSS
Important Notice for MSS Parents and Students

 

Please be advised that MSS will be holding the Grade 10 Provincial Numeracy and Literacy Assessments the week of January 25th-28th.  These provincial assessments assess student proficiency in the areas of literacy and numeracy.  Both assessments are graduation requirements and students take the assessments in their grade 10 year.   All Grade 10 MSS students will be attending MSS on the days and times indicated below to complete each assessment, in addition to a small group of Grade 11 and 12 students who have yet to write these assessments.


NOTE: If you are a grade 11 or 12 student who has not completed a required assessment you are required to attend one of the sessions below.  Emails have been sent home, however if you are unsure if you need to write the assessment (s) please email your counsellor. 


Grade 10 Numeracy Assessment for Gr. 10 and Gr. 11 Students – 9:00-11:00 AM

Monday January 25th- Last name A-Kh. – Session Location – MSS Gym A

Tuesday January 26th - Last name Ki-Z – Session Location – MSS Gym B

 

Grade 10 Literacy Assessment for Gr. 10 and Gr. 11 Students – 9:00-11:00 AM

Wednesday January 27th – Last name A-Kh. – Session Location – MSS Gym A

Thursday January 28th  - Last name Ki-Z – Session Location – MSS Gym B

 

Grade 12 ONLY – Grade 10 Numeracy Assessment- 12:30-2:30 PM

Monday January 25th A-Z

Note: This is  separate seating ONLY for Grade 12 students who have yet to complete the Grade 10 Numeracy Assessment.

 

Students are expected to arrive at MSS no later than 8:30 AM for morning sessions and no later 12:00 PM for afternoon sessions.   Each assessment is two hours in length, with an option for an additional hour if needed.  Students are required to bring photo ID, a pencil, and bottled water.  Students are welcome to bring their own calculator for the Numeracy Assessment, however an online calculator is available in the assessment itself.
